Sometimes we tell ourselves that we are not worthy or that we are not good enough or that some things like exceptional, handcrafted art making belong to a select group of people (artisans) who are more special than we are. We shy away at best at the idea that we, as we are, are lovely creative beings, that we too have a creative touch.
[Where does this mindset come from?] Perhaps it is because of a negative childhood experience from school or home or by our subconscious molded for years by the perceived or real values of society. Perhaps it is because we hold ourselves to such a high esteem that we fervently believe that we must first have internalized perfection in order to begin creating.
Or maybe we think that it's too late, in another life perhaps, or that we don't have the time or money for such frivolous responsibility-less childlike things like art, even as we spend exorbitant amounts of money and time on things that may not uplift us, including stress. Whatever the reason may be, the process of unlearning, growing, transforming and becoming, because you are here, has already begun. [Pause. Take a deep victorious breath.] In your very own art sanctuary, welcome.
Let's together tell doubt and our current comfort zones:
Not today. Not anymore.
❤ Give yourself the permission to be the intentional and willing handcrafted artisan, the thoughtful creative being, the mindful maker with a loving touch and a soulful heart. Be, breathe and become.
❤ Give yourself the permission to love the you within made as powerful, as creatively confident, as capable, as beautiful and as purposeful as all the stars in the galaxy. You are the 900 trillion life-nourishing, love-nourishing, creative, renewing cells within you that call you the love of their lives and home.
❤ Give yourself the permission to buy things that spark something; an idea, an aesthetic, a practice - an experience, a memory, a feeling, a goal, a reminder that you too are deserving.
❤ Give yourself the permission to share in a new experience and to share the overflow of the emotional shaping of you through that experience with someone you love. Let them feel your unconditional love language.
❤ Give yourself the permission to fearlessly co-create handcrafted art with ❤ as you are not meant for anything less. No more being afraid of trying. Begin before you're "ready". No more waiting for someday. You are in your art sanctuary. Enjoy your practice.
